Transformational Change from the Top Executive to the Bottom Line!

My Philosophy

What Kind Of Leader Do You Need To Be?

In a fast-paced world where what’s new today is outdated tomorrow, companies stay ahead of the curve not by being on the cutting edge but by redefining the edge. Great leaders know they can’t do it alone. They need their employees to be innovative and to exercise vision and foresight, capabilities once expected only from senior levels. By learning how to develop leadership capabilities in their people at all levels, leaders direct many eyes outward to see new possibilities and stimulate many minds to generate innovative ideas. Employees, especially millennials, want bosses who can create unified communities where their talents can be tapped to solve the challenges of the twenty-first century.

Intellect Isn’t Enough to Succeed in Today’s World.

Artificial intelligence is everywhere, whether it’s Waze giving you directions or Alexa as your personal assistant. Yes, robots are replacing people. So what makes you different than a robot? What value do you bring that Alexa can’t?

Successful leaders know that it takes more than knowledge, intellect, or even experience to thrive. If you’re only operating from your intellect, you’re using one-third of the capacity available to you. Scientists have discovered that vast untapped intelligences exist in our hearts and bodies. Tapping into these intelligences are critical to a leader’s success in the 21st century, so they use their intuition when making decisions, sense what’s around the corner when there are few hard facts to guide them, and think not just outside-the-box but where there is none. Also, being able to develop those capabilities in our people is crucial. Developing all three of our intelligences gives everyone the capacity to do what robots can’t!

Before we started on this journey, my department was a mess. Now I feel like I have a team behind me. Who would have thought that my whole department would change because I changed.

A New Breed of Leadership Is Emerging

The landscape of leadership is changing, being pushed by a new generation of leaders—millennials—taking management roles in companies and having companies of their own. Authoritative styles don’t work on this generation, who want bosses that can create unified communities where their talents can be tapped to solve the challenges of the twenty-first century. Sawubona (sow-BOH-nah, Zulu for “I see you”) Leaders answer that call.

Sawubona Leadership is a seemingly simple yet profoundly impactful way of engaging others. It compels employees to be driven from within to achieve the organization’s mission and to unite behind its success. Instead of “getting” employees to be their best self, Sawubona Leadership starts by recognizing that people “already” are their best self. Sawubona Leaders see each person as intrinsically gifted in the way that they are; they develop the whole person and create the opportunities and culture for each to live up to their highest potential. By serving a person’s highest purpose, Sawubona Leaders unleash an inner drive; employees choose to go beyond what is expected; they invest in themselves, their work, and their organizations. Sawubona communities strive to achieve a greater good and are committed to changing the world for the better. Today, Sawubona is in over thirty countries.

Susan’s Commitment To You

What Would Measurably Change The Quality Of Your Life?

When a person comes to me with a challenge or an area where they want improvement, I listen deeply to what they’re paying attention to and how they pay attention to it. And more importantly, I listen to what they’re not paying attention to—where they aren’t focused. What are they blind to that keeps tripping them up? How can we expand the view so their perception widens, their world expands, and what they’re blind to is revealed? The answers to these questions will change your life.

Why Insight Is Not Enough To Change

By giving you new distinctions, a different perspective, you open your eyes to a new way of looking at things in a way that you have never seen before. That “Aha!” moment when the light bulb goes on is insight. You now see a new way of taking action, which opens up new possibilities.

Yet, insight alone is not enough. As a coach, I give you a system of support of practices and various other resources that will allow you to “embody” a new behavior, a new way of being. This is transformation.

What Is Transformation?

When the change in behavior is not an act but a true expression of who you are. When you transform, you see the world differently, make different decisions, attract different people and things into your life, and your life changes forever.

Yet, it is not easy to do it alone. We all need someone who sees and recognizes the powerful resources and gifts that already lie within each of us, then gives us distinctions and practices to move us forward. Let me be that someone for you. If you’re ready to commit to your own transformational journey, I will commit to partner with you as you embark on a path that will measurably enrich the quality of your life.
